Healthy Diet

A program developed thanks to Mission Bambini Foundation for a healthy diet: balanced menus developed by a nutritionist, evaluation of the nutritional status, nutritional and hygiene information.

The Mission Bambini Foundation, based in Milan, is an international non-governmental organization that carries out multiple operations worldwide in favour of children.

Mission Bambini, together with a nutritionist, contributes to the production and quality control of the internal food cycle for the João Paulo II Educational Centre.

Every day the nutritionist plans nutritionally balanced menus , in accordance with the nutritional needs of children and adolescents. Lunch always includes a balanced mix of proteins, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. In addition, the expert draws up the “Guide to good food practices” and checks that hygiene and food handling standards are respected in daily cooking practices. The nutritionist carries out pedagogical activities in the classrooms on topics related to correct diet and nutritional value of food. He or she also assesses the nutritional status of children, by measuring weight and height, thus detecting cases of malnutrition, overweight or obesity. In such cases, they guide parents towards a specific path .

Every year volunteers from Mission Bambini visit us; these are always very beautiful moments that enrich our children, through the exchange of experiences with people who come from other countries.
