Planting and Harvesting
At the João Paulo II Educational Center, students are responsible for the school garden, a space where they learn to plant, cultivate, and harvest various types of vegetables, medicinal herbs, and decorative plants. They are guided in this activity by the nutritionist and the science teacher, who, through a pleasant activity that teaches the rhythms of nature, raise awareness among children about healthy eating and sustainability.
The presence of the garden and the care it requires foster the development of a sense of community, citizenship, and responsibility for the environment among children and adolescents.
“Do not let yourselves be carried away by life, but take it into your own hands and decide to make it a true and personal masterpiece!”.
Pope John Paul II to the Youth, 1985.
