Strength, determination, unity: it’s the Nova Geração!

In the annual sports calendar, October is the month of finals. Finals for any team sport championship: futsal, basketball, handball.

The Nova Geração family experiences truly exciting moments during this period, as we have many teams from different sports reaching the final stages of their championships, making each match filled with emotions!

To start, on September 29, the female youth handball team won the Jocoppar championship. The girls crowned an impeccable season, defeating the excellent team from Colégio Nossa Senhora da Conceição in a hard-fought final.

Nova Geração player Emilly Mendonça received the award for best player and top scorer of the competition.

We are incredibly proud of the girls’ journey, who started playing handball when they were young and continue to stand out, passionate about the sport.

On October 8, the boys’ cadet handball final took place, where our team faced the Military College of Salvador, known for its strong tradition in the sport. The match was breathtaking: both teams scored one goal after another until Nova Geração won by a one-point margin! What a game and what a fantastic victory! The boys deservedly became champions, fighting till the end. Congratulations, guys!

On Thursday, October 10, the under-13 girls’ basketball final took place. This was perhaps the biggest surprise of the season. The Nova Geração girls, in their first championship experience, made it to the final.

Their opponents, Colégio Salesiano Nazaré, were the favorites, but that final had to be Nova Geração’s! The girls showed determination and great play, coming back from an early deficit. After trailing 9-2, they kept adding points, eventually tying at 18-18 and won by a 5-point margin! What a game and what an unexpected victory! Girls, you’re amazing!

On October 17, another final took place between the under-13 boys’ team of Nova Geração and the excellent team from Colégio Salesiano Nazaré. On this occasion, the boys finished second, showcasing their skills on the court and completing a brilliant season.

At the end of October, the under-18 men’s basketball team was crowned two-time champion of the Jocoppar Championship, defeating the combative Colégio Marista team, reconfirming Nova Geração as a team of excellence. Congratulations to the boys and coaches!”
