Subúrbio Ferroviário
Sports Festival
The Subúrbio Ferroviário Sports Festival is a well-known sporting event in the city of Salvador, attracting people from the area surrounding the Centro Educativo João Paulo II, who come to participate or visit the event.
Born out of the desire to provide a sporting celebration aimed at the local youth and open to the city, the Subúrbio Ferroviário Sports Festival brings together various leagues, associations, sports groups and private and public schools from the city, creating an environment to forge bonds and appreciate sports practice. This way, a great sports family is formed, consisting of players, their coaches, families and the local community.
The event spans four consecutive days of futsal, basketball and handball competitions, with more than 60 entities and sports groups participating, drawing around 4,000 people on the weekends.
In addition to the games and matches, the festival also offers moments of integration, sports lessons, discussions with former athletes, alternative sports exhibitions like skateboarding and children’s entertainment activities, turning it into a true celebration of the fraternal bonds that unite all the participants.
“Do not let yourselves be carried away by life, but take it into your own hands and decide to make it a true and personal masterpiece!”.
Pope John Paul II to the Youth, 1985.
