In celebration of Children’s Month, students from Centro Educativo João Paulo II experienced unforgettable days during a special visit organized by the Brazilian Navy at the Aratu Naval Base. The visits took place on October 7th, 9th, 14th, and 16th.
Throughout the event, the children took part in a carefully planned program designed to help them understand the importance of the Navy in Brazil and its role in Bahia — combining education, recreation, and collective experiences. During the activity, the groups toured the Naval Base facilities and had the opportunity to talk with Navy personnel, asking questions about life in the Navy and its career opportunities.
One of the most memorable moments was a demonstration conducted by professionals with trained dogs, which captivated the children while also raising awareness about care, environmental protection, and respect for animals. The experience encouraged playful yet meaningful reflections on environmental responsibility and citizenship.
The most expected part of the visit was spending a day outdoors at the beautiful and safe Inema Beach — a stunning spot where the children enjoyed swimming, a group picnic, and traditional games such as a lively tug-of-war that brought plenty of laughter and teamwork.
The purpose of the field trip aligns with the João Paulo II mission to promote a holistic education that values the cognitive, emotional, social and cultural development of children. Being in nature stimulates the senses, strengthens bonds between students and educators, and allows each child to learn in a spontaneous, curious, and meaningful way — just as childhood should be.
These moments, marked by the beauty of the surroundings and the joy of togetherness, become lasting memories that highlight how playing, socializing, and exploring the world are essential parts of human development.
Centro Educativo João Paulo II extends its heartfelt thanks to the Brazilian Navy for allowing us to visit the Aratu Naval Base and for providing such a rich and transformative experience.
