On May 16, Centro Educativo João Paulo II hosted the second edition of Camp Meninas no Jogo, an initiative organized by the Cesta Baiana project in partnership with the Associação Humano Progresso Brasil . The event brought together girls aged 13 to 19 for a morning dedicated to women’s basketball training and development. Starting at 9 a.m., the program featured practical training sessions, technical circuits, and group dynamics, providing participants with an environment focused on learning, integration, and athletic growth. The event gathered local athletes for an experience centered on teamwork, skill improvement, and strengthening women’s basketball in the region.
One of the highlights of the event was the participation of athletes Julia Nunes, Luana Santos, and Jéssica Santos, who play for Salvador Basquete and compete in the Liga de Basquete Feminino. During the activities, the professional players joined the training sessions and shared their career experiences with the participants, encouraging young athletes to pursue opportunities in basketball.
Beyond technical development, Camp Meninas no Jogo aimed to promote social interaction among developing athletes and strengthen women’s basketball in the region. The initiative also reinforced the connection between youth categories and the national professional basketball scene, highlighting the importance of projects that create opportunities and inspire new generations of female athletes.
