SPORTS PROJECT NOVA GERAÇÃO
The Nova Geração Sports Project was implemented in 2013 and has become one of the main attractions of the João Paulo II Educational Center. The multi-purpose sports field is a well-structured space offering regular training in Futsal, Handball, and Basketball, collective sports modalities aimed at both male and female participants.
Due to the high demand for this project, Dance and Karate were also introduced as individual sports options, again open to both male and female participants. The project is carried out by a team of well-trained physical education teachers who guide children of various ages through the process of education and psychomotor development through sports.
With victories in Salvador and in events outside the state, in school competitions and festivals with other schools or associations, Nova Geração has a daily training routine, from Monday to Saturday, with physical activities and specific training for each modality.
But we know that sport is not just about training!
Practicing sports means experiencing a highly formative journey that involves learning to share with others, developing sportsmanship (fair play), self-control, as well as stimulating intelligence through understanding game strategies and techniques.
Championships, especially school competitions, have always been an exceptional opportunity to socialize with children and teens from other neighborhoods, as well as a chance to explore other parts of the city, different lifestyles, and to enter environments that our students would not otherwise have access to.
It is also part of our tradition to organize sports events for children and youth, open to the local community. These are moments that involve families and the community, who come to cheer for their children, offering families an opportunity to share joyful moments together.
“Don’t let life pass you by; take charge of your life and make the decision to turn it into an authentic and personal masterpiece!”.
Pope John Paul II to the Youth, 1985.
